James R. Matter, Psy.D.

Dr. Matter has over fifteen years of experience providing psychotherapy/counseling in diverse clinical settings. When working with patients, Dr. Matter uses a variety of theories and techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and Adlerian psychology. Dr. Matter also has specialized training in clinical hypnosis, which can be used to aid the psychotherapy process or used to address health related issues. Dr. Matter works with individuals, couples, and families of all ages, include children and teenagers. Some of the common problems that Dr. Matter treats include: anxiety, stress, worry, depression, grief, mood fluctuations, anger, impulsivity, attention issues, and relationships problems. A cornerstone of Dr. Matter’s philosophy of counseling is encouraging individuals to view their life situation as changeable, and then identifying realistic steps which promote positive change, health and well-being.

Amanda R. Comstock, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist


Dr. Amanda Comstock is a licensed clinical psychologist who believes that change and growth can occur through a collaborative, supportive and therapeutic relationship. When working with patients, Dr. Comstock practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Dr. Comstock helps reduce distress by teaching coping skills that help patients to work towards their personal goals and assist with living a fuller and more meaningful life.

Dr. Comstock enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families with a variety of concerns, including: anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, relationship problems, memory concerns, (i.e. Alzheimer’s, dementia, and family consultations for elderly parents), as well as Christian counseling and bereavement.
